Microban® technology is not designed to protect users from disease causing microorganisms.

The antimicrobial coating is incorporated into the finish during the manufacturing process and will not wash off or wear away. Microban lasts for the lifetime of the hardware finish.

The effectiveness of Microban® is contingent on the life of the finish. If the finish is degraded in the future, the Microban® efficacy may be compromised. Kwikset® offers a lifetime finish warranty on all products, in the event the finish of your product is damaged Kwikset® would replace the product.
